We are pleased to announce the recipients of the 2015 Spaan research grants:

  • Ildiko Porter-Szucs, Cynthia Macknish, and Barry DeCicco: “The CaMLA speaking test: Face-to-face v. computer delivery”
  • Xun Yan and Shelley Staples: “Investigating lexico-grammatical complexity as construct validity evidence for the ECPE writing tasks: A multidimensional analysis”

The Spaan Research Grant Program was established in recognition of Mary Spaan’s many contributions to our work here at CaMLA and the wider field of language assessment. The grants cover the cost of data collection and analysis for studies related to CaMLA tests. CaMLA also provides data to support the funded projects. Papers will be published as part of the CaMLA Working Papers.

We received many excellent applications this year and would like to thank everyone who applied.
